Therapy for breakups and divorce in Ontario
Therapy after a breakup or divorce can help you work through the grief, understand what happened, and start to feel like yourself again. We offer online sessions for adults across Ontario, beginning with a free 20-minute consult.

Where you might be right now
You’re trying to make sense of a relationship that ended, or one that’s falling apart. You might miss your ex, question your decisions, or struggle to let go of the future you pictured together. Part of you wants to move forward, and another part keeps going back to what happened.
You might be dealing with:
- Grief, loneliness, or waves of feeling that come out of nowhere
- Replaying the relationship and wondering what you could have done differently
- Self-doubt, or questioning your worth
- The practical stress of separating a life: living arrangements, finances, co-parenting
- Noticing the same patterns showing up in your relationships
How can therapy help after a breakup?
There’s no right timeline for getting over someone. Therapy gives you a place to go through it honestly. Together, we can:
- Make room for the grief, anger and relief, sometimes all at once
- Understand the patterns and attachment needs that shaped the relationship
- Rebuild your sense of who you are on your own
- Think through decisions without pressure
- Move toward what you want next, when you’re ready
What sessions look like
We draw from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), mindfulness therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) “parts work”, narrative therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Early sessions are often about steadying things day to day. Then we often shift to questions that come up about what we want from life/a partner, our most important values, communication and conflict management skills and overall what our next chapter should look like. You guide – we follow.
Is this a good fit?
This may be a good fit if you are:
- Going through a breakup, separation or divorce
- Unsure whether to stay in a relationship
- Noticing the same dynamics in dating or partnerships
- Still affected by a relationship that ended a while ago
Common questions
Is it normal to still be struggling months after a breakup?
Yes. Grief after a relationship doesn’t follow a schedule, and it often comes back around anniversaries, holidays or big decisions. Struggling doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.
Do you offer couples therapy?
Not at this time. Sessions are individual, which many people find helpful while they work out what they want.
