Therapy for burnout and work stress in Ontario
Therapy for burnout can help you understand why work is taking so much out of you and find a way of working, or a next step, that feels sustainable. We offer online sessions for adults across Ontario, starting with a free 20-minute consult.

Signs work is taking too much
You’re tired of feeling overwhelmed, underappreciated or frustrated at work. Maybe you take on too much, deal with a difficult manager or coworkers, or wonder whether you’re in the right job at all. Work is taking up more mental space than you want it to, and something needs to change.
You might notice:
- Sunday-night dread, or trouble switching off after work
- Exhaustion that a weekend doesn’t fix
- Feeling cynical or detached about work you used to care about
- Snapping at people at home after a hard day
- Trouble saying no, or feeling guilty when you do
- Questioning your career but feeling stuck about what to do
How can therapy help with burnout?
Burnout is often a mix of workload, expectations and the patterns we bring to work. Together, we can:
- Sort out what’s in your control and what isn’t
- Set limits around time, availability and workload
- Work with perfectionism and people-pleasing at work
- Prepare for hard conversations with a manager
- Think clearly about whether to stay, adjust or move on
What sessions look like
We draw from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), mindfulness therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) “parts work”, narrative therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Sessions balance practical changes you can try this week with a look at the beliefs that keep you overextended.
Is this a good fit?
This may be a good fit if you:
- Feel burnt out or close to it
- Are dealing with a difficult workplace or role change
- Find it hard to separate work from the rest of your life
- Are thinking about a career change and want space to think it through
Common questions
Can therapy help if I can’t change my job right now?
Often, yes. Many people find that changing how they respond to work, and what they say yes to, makes a real difference even when the job stays the same.
Will my employer know I’m in therapy?
Not from us. If you claim through workplace benefits, the receipt goes to your insurer, and employers generally don’t see individual claim details. Nothing about what you discuss is shared. Your sessions are confidential, within the legal limits we’ll go over at the start.
